WaterGuru SENSE S3 Setup
NEW or EXISTING WaterGuru USERS - SETTING UP A SENSE S3 DEVICE:
Before you get started:
- You must perform setup when you are within Bluetooth range (within 6 feet) of your SENSE
- Customers with Mesh Wi-Fi routers click here for important information
- Ensure that you have Wi-Fi access at the pool
- Before starting the process, disable / enable Bluetooth on your phone to ensure Bluetooth is functioning properly on your phone
Download and install the WaterGuru App and create your Account
- Download the WaterGuru app from the Apple App store or Google Play
- Enable Bluetooth on your phone (Bluetooth must be enabled or you will not be able to complete the initial pairing of the device from the WaterGuru app)
- Create a WaterGuru Account - Tap Sign Up. You'll need to provide your email address and First and Last name and a password. When complete tap Sign up. Tap I agree to agree to the WaterGuru terms of service.
- After your account has been created, we will send you an email with the subject "Your WaterGuru Verification code" - Note: You may need to check your "Other" folder, Junk Mail folder or Spam folder if the email is not in your regular email Inbox.
- Tap "Confirm Account"
- Enter the 6-digit verification code
- After your email account has been verified, you will be prompted: "Add Pool? No pools or devices have been added to this account. You may add a new pool, or use profile to sign into a different account that has that pool".
SETUP
- Tap "Add Pool"
- Select "New" if this is a brand new pool or spa or select "Replace" if you are replacing an existing SENSE device
- Tap to select the SENSE S3
- WAKE IT UP - follow the instructions to Expose to Bright Light - "Expose the solar panel to some bright light (direct sunlight, a desk lamp or a battery powered flashlight) Watch the video! - Note: Phone flashlights do not work well - most do not have sufficient brightness.

DEVICE WAKES UP - an LED light will blink on the device and flash blue when ready to activate
- Note: The flashing blue light only occurs during initial activation
- If you reactivate a previously activated S3 device or reconnect your S3 to a different Wi-Fi network the blue light will not flash, but reactivation will proceed normally
- Tap Next to continue

Allow Access - Bluetooth
- You need to connect the device to the Internet.
- To do this, allow access to your phone's Bluetooth connection
- Tap Next to continue
- "Hold tight! We're looking for your WaterGuru Device!"
- Good News! We found your WaterGuru! Please select below

Tap the name of the WaterGuru device which will appear as: WaterGuru:X1X234
- Connecting to Device will appear

What is your Pool Type?
- Select your pool type:
- Inground, Above Ground pool or Spa
- If you selected Inground, select Indoor or Outdoor
- Select your pool type:
- Tap Next

Install Cassette
- Remove cassette from bag. Fully insert cassette into Cassette holder until locking tabs click.
- Tap Next

Deploy SENSE
- In pool with Skimmer - Remove existing skimmer cover and replace with SENSE without Float Ring. For best water flow, rotate cover so the Cassette Holder is closest to the pool and Flow Sensor (which resembles a metal rectangle) faces the pool and is completely submerged.
- Make sure the skimmer is clean
- Tap Next

SENSE in Skimmer
- If Cassette Holder is touching the bottom of the skimmer basket, use the cord band to adjust cord length.
- Height Adjustment - Turn both screws to the left to loosen. Adjust height of Cassette holder by changing the size of the loop. When done, turn both screws to the right to tighten.

- Tap Next
- Scanning for Wi-Fi networks will appear
- At the Wi-Fi connection screen, under "Choose a Network", a list of the SSIDs of compatible 2.4Ghz Wi-Fi networks will appear.
- Note: If your home Wi-Fi network SSID does not appear, this may be an indication that your Wi-Fi network is located too far away from the SENSE. The SENSE should be located in a skimmer that is within 30 feet of the router or closest access point.
- If you don't see your network name, refresh the screen by using your finger to pull down from the top of the app.
- Ensure that you have enabled 2.4Ghz broadcast on your router and that your Network SSID is configured to a compatible Wi-Fi security profile
- If you continue to not see your network SSID in the list, you may need to purchase a Wi-Fi range extender.
- When you see your network SSID, tap on the network name
- At the Enter Password screen, carefully enter the password for your network
- If you have entered the Password correctly, a check box will appear next to the to the left of the network SSID.
- If you enter the password incorrectly, an error will be displayed.
- Tap Join
- If your password was entered successfully, a check box will appear to the left of your network name
- Tap Continue

Name Your Pool
- At the Name your Pool screen enter a name for your pool
- Tap Next
- What type of Chlorine do you use?
- Enter the type of Chlorine you use
- Tap Next
- What is your acid type?
- Enter type of Acid you use
- If you enter Muriatic Acid, you will be prompted to enter the concentration and Save
- Tap Next
- What is your pool construction?
- Enter your pool construction type
- Tap Next
- Estimate the size of your pool in gallons
- Enter the estimated size of your pool in gallons
- Tap Next
- What type of pool filter do you have?
- Enter the type of pool filter you have
- Tap Next
- What type of pool cover do you have?
- Enter the type of pool cover you have
- Tap Next
- All done!

REPLACEMENT DEVICE
- "We have what we need to build a Digital twin of your pool in our clouds so we can advise you going forward"
- Tap Complete

NEW DEVICE
- Now the device will take a test of your water.
- These messages will be displayed while the device downloads updated firmware and prepares to measure. This can take about 4-5 minutes:
- Checking if unit is in water
- Waiting for unit to check in
- After the firmware has been downloaded and updated, the measurement will begin:
- Measuring ...
- The measurement will take about 11-18 minutes.
- After your first water measurement is complete, you will receive a push notification on your phone with your results.

REPLACEMENT DEVICE
Tap on the Push notification and the WaterGuru App will launch and display the Home Screen
If you tap on the water chemistry values, i.e. 0.4 FC, Advice will appear which will tell you how to resolve the low Free Chlorine condition
