How do I take the SENSE S3 out of hibernation so it can be activated?
The WaterGuru SENSE S3 Li-ion battery is shipped in hibernation mode with a 30% charge. To take the S3 out of hibernation mode, you must expose the solar panel on the top cover to VERY BRIGHT LIGHT. After this is done, a light sequence will commence that will be visible on the top cover and in the lab unit
Here is a VIDEO showing the process.
Note: If the light sequence does not commence, it is because the light source that you used to shine on the solar panel was not of sufficient brightness.
Remember if other methods fail, direct sunlight will always work.
- Some phone flashlights do not have sufficient brightness and may not work
- Incandescent lights work best if one is available
- LED flashlights are very bright and will work if they are brought directly close to the solar panel. Angling the light from the LED flashlight onto the solar panel usually works best.
- Table lamps with LED or Halogen bulbs will work if they are brought directly close to the solar panel
- If you are unable to locate any of these, expose the solar panel to direct sunlight which always works
Light Sequence
- Immediately after the solar panel is exposed to very bright light, either sunlight or an LED Flashlight directed on an angle to the solar panel, the light sequence will begin
- A white light will blink on the top cover LED
- Immediately after, ½ second red light in Lab unit
- 3-1/2 seconds later: ½ second red light on top cover
- 5-10 seconds later: 1 second green light in Lab unit
- Immediately after: 1 second green light on top cover
- Immediately after: blinking blue light on top cover which will blink on and off until setup, including Wi-Fi network connection to a valid SSID & Password, is complete
- After setup is complete, the blue light will stop blinking
The blinking blue light on the top cover indicates that your device is broadcasting the BLE address and is ready to be set up in the WaterGuru app. Once you have completed the setup and paired the device to a Wi-Fi network SSID with a valid password, the blue light will stop blinking and setup is complete.
If you ever need to reactivate the SENSE S3 or change Wi-Fi networks, the blinking blue light is not required to activate the device.
