Does the WaterGuru App display the signal strength of my available Wi-Fi networks?
Yes. The WaterGuru app will display an estimate of the signal strength of available Wi-Fi networks both during initial SENSE setup as well as when you switch your SENSE to a different Wi-Fi network,
Initial Setup:
- Note: The setup process should always be performed at the location of the Pool or Spa
- The App will first look for your SENSE device through Bluetooth - Note: You must be within 6 feet of the device
- You will be prompted to confirm your device's BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) address
- After confirming the BLE address, the App will display "Scanning for Wi-Fi networks"
- A list of available Wi-Fi networks with compatible Wi-Fi network Security Profiles will be displayed at the Choose a Network screen. If your network is not displayed, it may be too far away from the SENSE or you may be using an incompatible Wi-Fi network security profile
- Available Wi-Fi networks are displayed in descending order from strongest to weakest with a coverage bar icon
- The network Mischa has 2 bars which means it has an RSSI from between -66 to -75dbm
- The other networks in the list are weaker, and display only 1 bar which means their RSSI is between -75dbm and -90dbm
- If a device with stronger Wi-Fi RSSI signal were available, i.e. lower than -65dbm, the network name would be displayed with 3 coverage bars
- Note: You should only connect the SENSE to networks with at least 1 bar of network signal strength. If you connect to a device with 1 coverage bar, the device may still experience connectivity issues.
Changing your Wi-Fi network
- Note: Ensure you are within 6 feet of the SENSE device before starting the process
- Tap the Gear Icon in the upper right-hand corner of the App
- Tap Wi-Fi Settings
- "Scanning for Wi-Fi Networks" will appear
- The App will first look for your SENSE device through Bluetooth
- Note: If you are not within 6 feet of the device and/or your SENSE battery strength is weak, the message "WaterGuru Unavailable" will be displayed. Tap OK and move closer to the device and try again
- After the App has connected through Bluetooth, "Scanning for Wi-Fi networks" will be displayed
- A list of available Wi-Fi networks with compatible Wi-Fi network Security Profiles will be displayed in descending order from strongest to weakest with a coverage bar icon at the Choose a Network screen.
