WaterGuru SENSE - Connection Failed - Router Network Security
If you are attempting to pair your WaterGuru SENSE to your Wireless router and after entering the Wi-Fi password, you fail to connect with an error "Connection Failed" Check this Support article first for troubleshooting the most common "Connection Failed" connection failure reasons: "Connection failed. Connection to Wi-Fi failed, please try again" troubleshooting
If the above Support article does not resolve the issue and you have ruled out a password issue, an incorrect Wi-Fi security profile or the SENSE being too far away from your router or Network Access point, this may be an indication that the WaterGuru SENSE is attempting to connect to your Network SSID but is blocked by the router itself.
This typically occurs when connecting to a router that has network security software or internal network security settings enabled that are blocking the SENSE device’s connection attempt.
It can also occur if you attempt to connect to a virtual LAN (VLAN). VLAN connections are not supported. It can also occur when connecting to Eero routers or enterprise grade or non-enterprise grade routers such as the Ubiquiti UniFi line of routers or others routers such as Eero routers.
What should I do?
- Temporarily disable the network security software in order for the SENSE to pair to your Wi-Fi network.
- Check your router's internal network security settings.
- Note: This issue is rare but is typically seen in Eero or Ubiquiti Unifi routers. You may need to contact the router or security software vendor for assistance, especially if the router has advanced internal network security settings. If you are not the Network Administrator, you should reach out to the Network Administrator for assistance.
