How do I reset the WaterGuru SENSE S2?
SENSE S2 Reset
Follow these steps to reset the SENSE S2 device and reconnect it to your Wi-Fi network.
Note: The reset does not remove the Wi-Fi network SSID and password which are stored in the SENSE
- Take the device out of the skimmer
- Take the device into an area either indoors or close to the pool that is shaded, so you can see the battery lights inside the cassette holder upon boot-up
- Place the device on a flat surface and push down on the outer ring to open the device.
- Remove the cassette from the cassette holder temporarily so you can see the blinking lights inside the cassette holder
- Remove all 4 batteries and wait about 30 seconds - to allow full discharge
- After 30 seconds, replace all 4 batteries and observe the red and green lights in the bottom of the cassette holder that will blink on and off for several seconds and then stop. The lights will blink red once, then pause and then blink green once and then stop. If you don't see the lights, replace the batteries with new batteries and ensure you have waited 30 seconds to allow full discharge. If the SENSE S2 blinks a red light only, please contact customer support. The device may be experiencing an issue.

Wait 30 minutes and you then you can check the SENSE connection status in your app.
- Launch the WaterGuru app
- Tap the Gear icon (Settings)
- Tap Device Info > Last Connection
- Last Connection is an indication of the last time your SENSE connected to your home Wi-Fi network. The SENSE device checks the water temperature every 30 minutes so the Last Connection time is updated every 30 minutes.
Note: If you have made changes to your Wi-Fi network, i.e. new password, new Wi-Fi router, etc., you will need to tap Settings > Wi-Fi settings to switch the SENSE to the new network.
Note: There is no Factory Reset option for the SENSE, nor is it necessary. The SENSE receives regular Firmware updates that are delivered OTA - Over the air - through Wi-Fi to keep the device software up-to-date.
- The SENSE connects every 30 minutes to measure your pool's temperature and report it to the Cloud and the app.
- The "Last Connection time" shown at the Device Info screen in the app is the last time, the SENSE connected through your Wi-Fi network and reported the Pool's temperature to the Cloud and the WaterGuru app. If you have just performed a reset, check the app after 30 minutes and you will see the updated "Last Connection" Time.
