WaterGuru SENSE Setup
EXISTING USERS - SETTING UP A NEW DEVICE IN A NEW POOL:
If you are an existing WaterGuru customer who has already activated a SENSE device and are setting up a SENSE device for a new pool, follow these steps:
- Launch the WaterGuru App on your phone
- At the top middle portion of the screen, tap the drop-down arrow to the right of the name of your pool
- Tap Add Device
- At the Pool Selection screen, "Are you setting up the device in an existing pool or a new pool"
- Select New if you are setting up another SENSE in new pool
- Select REPLACE if you are setting up a replacement SENSE
- Follow the instructions to activate the SENSE
NEW USERS - SETTING UP A NEW DEVICE:
Before you get started:
- You must perform setup when you are within Bluetooth range (within 6 feet) of your SENSE
- Customers with Mesh Wi-Fi routers click here for important information
- Ensure that you have Wi-Fi access at the pool
- Before starting the process, disable / enable Bluetooth on your phone to ensure Bluetooth is functioning properly on your phone
Download and install the WaterGuru App and create your Account
- Download the WaterGuru app from the Apple App store or Google Play
- Enable Bluetooth on your phone (Bluetooth must be enabled or you will not be able to complete the initial pairing of the device from the WaterGuru app)
- Create a WaterGuru Account - Tap Sign Up. You'll need to provide your email address and First and Last name and a password. When complete tap Sign up. Tap I agree to agree to the WaterGuru terms of service.
- After your account has been created, we will send you an email with the subject "Your WaterGuru Verification code" - Note: You may need to check your "Other" folder, Junk Mail folder or Spam folder if the email is not in your regular email Inbox.
- Tap "Confirm Account"
- Enter the 6-digit verification code
- After your email account has been verified, you will be prompted: "Add Pool? No pools or devices have been added to this account. You may add a new pool, or use profile to sign into a different account that has that pool".
- Tap "Add Pool"
Setup
- Tap "Setup" when prompted "Do you want to setup your WaterGuru device"
- Install Batteries - Open Cover - follow the instructions to Open the Cover - This step must be done on a flat surface - View video.
- Tap Next to continue
- Install Batteries
- Add the included 4 C Cell size batteries to the SENSE - View video
- Tap Next to continue
- Close Cover
- Replace Cover onto outer ring guiding the cord through the opening. Position your hands on either side of the outer ring, with the four fingers of each hand underneath the outer ring and the thumbs of each hand on top of the SENSE cover. While pressing down with your thumbs, use the fingers of both hands to lift up the outer ring so it is flush with the SENSE cover. - View video.
- Tap Next to continue
- Allow Access - Bluetooth
- You need to connect the device to the Internet. To do this, allow access to the Bluetooth connection".
- Tap Next to continue
- Good News! We found your WaterGuru! Please select below
- Tap the name of the WaterGuru device which will appear as: WaterGuru:X1X234
- Scanning for Wi-Fi networks will appear
- At the Wi-Fi connection screen, under "Choose a Network", a list of the SSIDs of compatible 2.4Ghz Wi-Fi networks will appear.
- Note: If your home Wi-Fi network SSID does not appear, this could be an indication that your Wi-Fi network may be located too far away from the SENSE.
- If you don't see your network name, refresh the screen by pulling down from the top of the app.
- If you continue to not see your network and you have enabled 2.4Ghz broadcast on your router, you may need to purchase a Wi-Fi range extender.
- When you see your network SSID, tap on the network name
- At the Enter Password screen, carefully enter the password for your network
- If you have entered the Password correctly, a check box will appear next to the to the left of the network SSID. If you enter the password incorrectly, an error will be displayed.
- Tap Continue
- What is your Pool Type
- Select your pool type, Inground pool, Above Ground pool or Spa
- Tap Next
- If you selected, Inground Pool - Select Indoor or Outdoor
- Tap Next
- Install Cassette
- Remove cassette from bag. Fully insert cassette into Cassette holder until locking tabs click. Note: The use of a Mesh bag is optional.
- Tap Next
- Deploy SENSE
- In pool with Skimmer - Remove existing skimmer cover and replace with SENSE without Float Ring. For best water flow, rotate cover so the Flow Sensor on the Cassette Holder faces the pool.
- Tap Next
- (SENSE S2) - If Cassette Holder is touching the bottom of the skimmer basket, pinch two ends of the Cable and insert through the Cable band. Adjust the height by inserting additional length of cable through the cable band so that the cassette holder is not touching the bottom of the skimmer basket. (SENSE S1 - Click Here)
- Tap Next
- Name Your Pool
- At the Name your Pool screen enter a name for your pool
- Tap Next
- All done! Now the device will take a test of your water. The measurement will take about 10 minutes and you will get a push notification once done. Meanwhile, please answer a few questions that we need to know to give accurate advice on water care.
- Tap Next
- What type of Chlorine do you use?
- Tap Next
- What is your acid type?
- Tap Next
- What is your pool construction?
- Tap Next
- Estimate the size of your pool in gallons
- Tap Next
- What type of pool filter do you have?
- Tap Next
- What type of pool cover do you have?
- Tap Next
After your first water measurement is complete, you will receive a push notification on your phone with your results.
Tap on the Push notification and the WaterGuru App will launch and display the Home Screen
If you tap on the water chemistry values, i.e. 0.4 FC, Advice will appear which will tell you how to resolve the low Free Chlorine condition
