Why is the app displaying "Waiting for Unit to Check in" after initial Setup?
After you have completed setup steps in the WaterGuru app, the SENSE will perform it's first water measurement. Before it does the first measurement, it will first check for and download new firmware and prepare for the first water measurement.
These two messages will be displayed while the device checks if it is in water, checks for new firmware, downloads updated firmware and prepares to measure. This usually takes about 4-5 minutes. If your Wi-Fi connection is slow and/or the SENSE is located far away from your router, it could take longer.

After the firmware has been downloaded and updated, the device will reboot, the measurement will begin and these messages are displayed:
- Measuring - Typically 8-10 min
- Measuring
- Measuring ......
The measurement will take about 10-12 minutes to complete.
After your first water measurement is complete, you will receive a push notification on your phone with your results and the WaterGuru app will display the results.
If the measurement fails, this is typically caused by debris or contaminants in your skimmer.
